Real Cost collects nothing. No personal data, no usage data, no diagnostics, no identifiers. There is no account to create and nothing to opt out of.

The app never connects to your bank, and it never asks you to. What you owe is something you type in — it is not read from anywhere.

What you enter

The amounts, rates, terms, fees and payment dates you type stay in the app's own storage on your device, and are included in your own iCloud or iTunes backup if you make one. They are not sent anywhere. There is no server behind this app.

The paperwork you scan

When you open a PDF or photograph a page, the text is recognised on the device, using the engine built into iOS. The file is read where it is and is not copied, uploaded or kept by the app. Nothing about it leaves your iPhone or iPad.

Reminders

Payment reminders are local notifications scheduled by the app on your own device. They are not sent from a server, and no one else can see them.

The purchase

The one-time unlock is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, your payment details or your Apple Account. The app only asks Apple whether this device is entitled to the unlock, and Apple answers yes or no.

What we would have to tell you if it existed

There is no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDK, no crash reporting service and no tracking of any kind. Nothing is shared with anyone, because nothing is collected in the first place.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, a change would most likely mean something new was added — and it would be described here before it shipped.
